Lockheed L1011-500
Pan Am bought 12 of theese Airliners but only four month before acquirering National Airlines wich had 16 DC-10s. So theese jets were not compatible and Pan Am sold their TriStars within 5 years. The last went ot of service in 1986, The first TriStar had gone into service only on 1 May 1980! It was an very expencive missunderstanding!
